Have you ever wondered why you and a partner had such differing sexual expressions or a completely different and varying set of turn on’s and turn offs? The Erotic Blueprints, created by the brilliant somatic sexologist—Jaiya are a very cohesive and informative way of deeply understanding the varying ways that eroticism moves and expresses itself through peoples bodies, energy systems and what they desire to be fulfilled in a sexual encounter. The five Erotic Blueprints are Energetic, Sensual, Sexual, Kinky and the Shapeshifter! Sometimes we have a primary blueprint paired up almost evenly with a secondary blueprint, could score high in three different blueprints, known as a blueprint stack or score high in one and low in the others. We each have a unique array of each type and our type may be subject to shift if our desires and needs shift too! The Blueprints are in no way a hierarchy system; they each have incredible gifts (and shadows too!) that can give one so many skills, abilities to receive pleasure and develop our erotic selves more deeply!
A Brief Summary of Each Type:
The Energetics:
The energetics are a glorious mix of deep feelers, typically intuitives, usually have a need for heart connection in order for their erotic energy to be turned on and can absolutely LOVE the feeling of longing for more. The energetics are typically found with interests in yoga, tantra, breathwork, spiritual practices and can sense or feel energy in a pretty profound way. Some superpowers of the Energetic BP are access to full body orgasms, deep orgasmic states and can feel so much sensitivity and pleasure without being touched. A few shadows of the Energetic is their hypersensitive nervous systems can short circuit with TOO much feeling, making them feel numb or nothing and can sometimes have a hierarchical view of sexuality.
The Sensuals:
The sensuals are the erotic artists of the group; they inspire and bring lovemaking to a whole new level of artistry, refined beauty and quality in their erotic experiences. They may savor each encounter, often incorporating specific scents, lavish fabrics, decadent aphrodisiac foods and sensual music! The superpowers of the Sensual BP is that they can be turned on by ALL of their senses, non-genital orgasms, full bodied experiences with sex and can be masters of sensuous touch! Some shadows of the Sensual include being caught up in their thoughts, preoccupied or self conscious with smell, taste and body fluids, can worry about making a mess or another person’s fluids, can get caught up in the details or could focus on what their partner may be doing imperfectly.
The Sexuals:
The sexuals are some of the most straight forward types with a pretty consistently high sex drive and simple view of sex. Sex for this type may be pretty simple: if the genitals are aroused, then they are ready for sex and if a peak orgasm was reached, then it was successful sex! The genitals and primary erogenous zones will be the most resourced place for pleasure
with a Sexual. Some superpowers are their consistently high libidos, desires and forward moving energy! They can be bold, passionate, decisive and go after what they want—showing the other blueprints how to embody their desires with courage! A few shadow sides of the Sexual are that they can have a limited definition of sex, can have goal oriented or driven sex, missing the journey in exploring more deeply and can lack an understanding or tolerance for other blueprints needs.
The Kinkys:
The Kinky Blueprint can get SO creative in sex! The world of kink is endless and just exploring this quadrant of eroticism can give one a lifetime of new experiences and several crafts to master. Kink can be a deeply psychological experience as well as a deeply immersive bodily or somatic experience too. The Kinky’s can have incredible orgasmic experiences without any kind of genital stimulation, give themselves permission to eroticize deep cultural taboos, can explore power dynamics in a safe container, can have an excellent personal sense of their boundaries and thus how to communicate them to a partner. Playing within Dom/Sub space can lead to altered states of consciousness to explore erotic their freedom. A few shadow sides of the Kinky’s can be getting stuck in ruts of needing certain taboos or things to get them off, could have shame with their kinks, hide their turn ons, can box themselves into just a few different activities, or have a challenge finding open minded partners willing to explore. They also may stay within the Kink realm and never explore other blueprints.
The Shapeshifters:
The shapeshifters are the erotic chameleons of the group! They can twist and turn into so many different erotic expressions. They may be high on Sensual and Kinky and deeply need and love both. They could be high on ALL of the other four blueprints, making for exceptionally skilled and knowledgable lovers. They are typically excellent at pleasing their partners, mirroring them in their partners blueprint; but oftentimes they do not get all of their erotic fancies met (unless their partner is also a shapeshifter!) Shapeshifters have enormous capacity for pleasure and can have SO much variety available. A few shadow sides of the Shapeshifter is that they can feel starved by not getting each blueprint met or could feel bored if they are only playing within one Blueprint, and can be too focused on giving and pleasing their partners.
